Morocco pro-Palestine protests reject normalization
Protesters voiced support for the Palestinian people and their resistance, rejected the continued assault on Gaza, and denounced official normalization with Israel, particularly the upgrade of relations to the level of ambassadorial exchange.
Abu Bakr al-Wankhari, a member of the Moroccan Committee for Supporting the Nation’s Causes, said the rallies, held under the slogan “Friday of the Flood Anniversary,” reflected a firm popular position in support of Palestine and the Palestinian struggle for freedom, dignity and the liberation of land and holy sites. He said turnout in more than 30 cities showed how deeply Palestine remains rooted in Moroccan public consciousness despite official efforts to strengthen ties with Israel, and that it would remain both a popular and a national cause.
