Hamas Delegation Meets Turkish FM Hakan Fidan in Ankara

A high-level Hamas delegation led by political bureau chief Khalil al-Hayya met Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan in Ankara on Friday. According to the Palestinian Information Center, the two sides discussed the latest developments in the Palestinian arena and other issues of mutual interest.

The delegation also included Mousa Abu Marzouk, head of the movement’s international relations office, Basem Naim, head of its Arab and Islamic relations office, and Mousa Akkari, Hamas’s representative in Türkiye. The talks covered political, military and humanitarian developments in the occupied Palestinian territories and Türkiye’s role in supporting the Palestinian people and their rights.

Al-Hayya Warns Gaza Crisis at Critical Point

Al-Hayya highlighted the dire conditions in Gaza, warning that persistent Israeli attacks, widespread destruction, mass displacement and acute shortages had pushed the humanitarian crisis to a critical point. He stressed the importance of the Board of Peace’s role in pressuring Israel to honour its ceasefire obligations, curb its violations and support relief efforts.

The meeting also addressed continuing Israeli escalation in the West Bank, Jerusalem and the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound, as well as violations against Palestinian prisoners. Commending President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s support for Palestine, al-Hayya urged further Turkish action to help end the suffering of the Palestinian people.
