Banners expressing gratitude to Iran have been installed along a main road leading to Beirut’s airport, highlighting Tehran’s demand for a permanent end to the Israeli aggression against Lebanon in the recently signed Iran-US memorandum of understanding (MoU).
On Sunday, banners carrying messages of appreciation for Iran were displayed along the main road connecting Beirut to the city’s international airport, one of the capital’s busiest routes.
The banners featured images of the martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, and the current Leader, Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei, alongside the message: “Thank you to loyal Iran.”
According to local reports, the displays were intended to express appreciation for Iran’s emphasis on the termination of Israeli aggression against Lebanon in the MoU.
Ali Ammar, a member of the Loyalty to the Resistance parliamentary bloc, said Iran has consistently supported the resistance movement and remained committed to its pledges.
The MoU was signed digitally and remotely by Presidents Masoud Pezeshkian and Donald Trump, and is expected to lead to negotiations for a comprehensive agreement over the next 60 days. It calls for an immediate and permanent end to the war on all fronts, including Lebanon.
