The Secretary-General of Lebanon’s Hezbollah resistance movement, Sheikh Naim Qassem, has rejected the recent agreement reached between the Lebanese government and the Israeli regime, describing it as a “null and void” concession that legalizes Israeli occupation of southern Lebanon.
In a detailed statement issued on Saturday, Sheikh Qassem said: “This agreement is null and void, and instead the provisions of the Iranian-American Memorandum of Understanding must be implemented.”

He described the Washington-brokered agreement as a “gratuitous concession” to the Israeli regime and a “stab in the back of the resistance.” Sheikh Qassem warned that the deal deprives the Lebanese people of their right to return to their lands and turns Lebanon into a toy in the hands of the enemy.
The Hezbollah leader stressed that the ceasefire reached earlier was the result of sacrifices by the Lebanese resistance and called for the full implementation of the Iran-US MoU, which requires a complete Israeli withdrawal from Lebanon within 60 days. He vowed that Hezbollah will continue to fight until the aggressors are expelled from Lebanese territory.
The US-brokered Lebanese-Israeli agreement has faced strong criticism for requiring Hezbollah to disarm in exchange for Israeli withdrawal. Sheikh Qassem emphasized that the resistance is defending Lebanon’s existence itself and will not accept any deal that aims to disarm or weaken it.
He called on Lebanese authorities to admit their mistake and work together with the resistance for the protection of Lebanon’s sovereignty, the return of displaced people, reconstruction, and national security. Sheikh Qassem reaffirmed that Hezbollah will continue its struggle in the field as a resistance force to defeat the occupying enemy.
The Hezbollah leader concluded that the path of honor, goodness, and salvation lies in steadfast resistance, and the movement will never abandon the field.
