The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) has warned that any enemy miscalculation against Iran will be met with a response “more crushing than ever”.
The IRGC issued a statement on Friday, marking funeral ceremonies for late Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei scheduled to be held on July 4-9.
It said that the funeral procession is not merely a farewell, but a momentous resurgence to renew allegiance to pure Islam, the lofty ideals of the Islamic Revolution, and the continuation of the path of the martyred Leader.
The IRGC stressed that its “readiness is not just a military display, but rather a declaration of abhorrence by a galvanized and vengeful nation against all forms of oppression and aggression”.
It further called on Iranians to demonstrate their unity and steadfastness through massive participation in the funeral ceremonies, which are expected to draw between 15 and 20 million mourners.
The Leader was assassinated on February 28, the first day of the 40-day illegal war of aggression waged by the United States and the Israeli regime against Iran. The multi-day funeral will begin on Saturday with the body lying in state at Tehran’s Grand Mosalla, followed by processions in Tehran, Qom, Iraq, and burial in Mashhad.
This strong message from the IRGC underscores Iran’s unwavering determination to defend its sovereignty and continue the path of resistance under the guidance of the new Leader, Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei.
The massive turnout at the funeral ceremonies is expected to send a powerful message of national unity and resolve to the adversaries of the Islamic Republic.
The IRGC emphasized that the blood of the martyred Leader will open new horizons for global awakening and the sacred unity of the Islamic Ummah.
