Iran’s Parliament Speaker Dr. Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf and Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri held a telephone conversation on Thursday afternoon.
In the call, Dr. Qalibaf stressed that one of the most important issues discussed in the recent talks in Switzerland was the end of the war in Lebanon and the restoration of its full sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Qalibaf said this issue is part of the first clause of the Islamabad MoU between Iran and the United States. He added that a monitoring mechanism has been agreed upon to ensure the implementation of this provision in Lebanon.
Nabih Berri warned that the enemy is trying to circumvent the provisions of the MoU regarding Lebanon’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. He described the Washington agreement between Lebanon and Israel as a “conspiracy and sedition” and quoted Imam Ali (a.s.) saying that sedition is worse than murder.
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to the full implementation of the Iran-US memorandum and the defense of Lebanon’s rights.
