Strait of Hormuz Iran: Senior lawmaker Ebrahim Azizi declares the vital waterway as Iran’s permanent strategic asset

A senior Iranian lawmaker has underscored the strategic significance of the Strait of Hormuz describing the vital waterway as the Islamic Republic’s permanent asset that will remain under the control and management of the Iranian nation.

Ebrahim Azizi Chairman of the Iranian Parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Committee warned that Iran will pursue its legal rights in the waterway with full strength and will show no leniency toward anyone.

He described the strait as a full-fledged economic political and military lever that will forever remain under the management of the courageous and powerful Iranian nation. Iran has devised a new mechanism to control maritime traffic through a designated route including charging fees for specialized services in line with its national sovereignty.

Azizi praised the Axis of Resistance for its strong support during the 40-day US-Israeli aggression saying the resistance front is unified and cohesive. He stressed that relying on domestic strength and the backing of the resistance front Iran is fully capable of safeguarding all its national interests including strategic control over the Strait of Hormuz.

The lawmaker made it clear that no threat or sanction will weaken the resolve of the Iranian nation.
