Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has said that the United States contradictory and excessive stances are a serious obstacle to the fruition of diplomatic processes.
Araghchi made the remarks in Tehran on Monday during a meeting with Pakistan’s visiting Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi. He pointed out that Washington tries to force Iran to negotiate its right to peaceful nuclear energy and defensive capabilities while maintaining economic political and military pressure on Tehran.
The top diplomat recalled previous US breaches of commitments including its withdrawal from the 2015 nuclear agreement and joining Israel in unprovoked aggression against Iran. Despite deep mistrust Iran entered the diplomatic process out of a sense of responsibility to end the cycle of aggression.

Araghchi stressed that while Iran is serious about diplomacy it will spare no effort to strengthen its preparedness to defend the country’s security and national interests. He called on the international community to hold the US and Israel accountable for their atrocities including the killing of 170 innocent students and teachers in Minab.
For his part Mohsin Naqvi described his talks with Iranian officials as constructive and useful and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to expanding comprehensive ties with Iran. He expressed hope that Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts would help promote peace and stability in the region.
