Iran Foreign Minister Araghchi: Diplomacy to Consolidate Victory in War Against US-Israel

Iran Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi on memorandum with United States

Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has outlined the structure of a potential memorandum of understanding with the United States, stating that diplomacy is intended to consolidate the major strategic victory achieved by the Islamic Republic on the battlefield.

In a televised interview on Friday, Araghchi declared that Iran is the clear victor in the face of the unprovoked US-Israeli aggression, saying the Iranian people are the true winners of this confrontation.

Araghchi explained that diplomatic efforts are in their final stages based on a 14-point interconnected memorandum of understanding. The process will have two phases: an initial memorandum followed by a second phase of detailed negotiations expected to last around 60 days.

He said Iran’s frozen assets will be released upon signing of the initial memorandum. Sensitive issues such as nuclear enrichment and sanctions removal will be addressed in the second phase. The agreement must also include a complete ceasefire in Lebanon and the lifting of the illegal US naval blockade.

Araghchi stressed that Iran will not accept any agreement that compromises its sovereignty and warned against US attempts to renege on commitments. He also announced that Iran and Oman are finalizing a joint framework for managing the Strait of Hormuz.
