Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi has strongly censured the Board of Governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) over an anti-Iran draft resolution pushed by the United States, Britain, France, and Germany.
Gharibabadi described the move as a “dangerous attempt” to whitewash the crimes of the aggressors who attacked Iran’s nuclear facilities.
He pointed out that it is documented by the IAEA itself that US and Israeli attacks on safeguarded Iranian nuclear sites forced the agency’s inspectors to leave the country for security reasons. Now, the United States is trying to shift blame onto Iran for the consequences of its own illegal aggression.
Gharibabadi stressed that drafting such resolutions will not strengthen the IAEA’s safeguards, and called for condemnation of aggression against nuclear facilities and accountability for the aggressors instead. Iran firmly rejects this politically motivated resolution.
