Addressing the BRICS summit of Judiciary Heads in India, Iran’s Judiciary Chief Gholamhossein Mohseni Ejei stated that the world needs justice now more than ever, emphasizing that true justice must not be selective, compromise the rule of law for political goals, or judge nations based on power. Highlighting BRICS as a vital economic and political alliance shaping a new world order, he noted the bloc’s foundational commitment to mutual respect, state sovereignty, and adherence to the UN Charter.
Ejei pointed out that despite modern technological advances, the contemporary world faces growing violations of sovereignty, widespread breaches of human rights, unlawful unilateral sanctions, and hegemonic pressure on independent nations. Detailing Iran’s recent experiences, he stated that the Iranian people have paid a heavy price for independence, enduring a brutal and illegal war of aggression by the United States and Israel over the past and current years.

Recalling the devastating human toll—including 168 schoolchildren killed in a single day at a Minab school during the 40-day conflict—Ejei condemned the deliberate targeting of hospitals, residential areas, and civilian infrastructure. He characterized these actions as clear-cut war crimes and criticized the indifference shown by international organizations.
Concluding his remarks, the Judiciary chief called on BRICS member states to take concrete measures, starting with the official condemnation of violations against Iran’s sovereignty under international law, and urged global legal institutions to end impunity for perpetrators of international crimes.
