Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has said that the Iranian people have firmly and proudly stood up against horrific violence and will never surrender to the will and whims of the declining US imperial power.
Araghchi made these remarks while addressing the two-day meeting of BRICS foreign ministers in New Delhi on Thursday. He said it is a fragile reality that imperial power in decline wants to turn back the clock and is desperately lashing out.
He made it clear that Iran is unbreakable and only emerges stronger and more united under pressure. While ready to fight with everything in defense of its freedom and soil Iran is equally ready to pursue diplomacy.
Araghchi condemned the two brutal unlawful and unjustified acts of aggression by the United States and Israel against Iran in less than a year based on false claims. He stressed that Iran like many other independent nations is a victim of illegal expansionism and warmongering.
He pointed out that regional instability is a lose-lose proposition for all sides including the aggressors. Araghchi paid tribute to Iran’s leaders who sacrificed their lives for justice independence and sovereignty.

He highlighted the honorable role of Iran’s Armed Forces medical personnel teachers and law enforcement officers who put the lives of the people above their own safety. Araghchi reiterated that Iran does not seek war but is not the aggressor it is the aggrieved.
He strongly condemned the United States for using coercion to get support for its resolution on the Strait of Hormuz. Araghchi said BRICS represents the emergence of a new global order where the Global South plays a key role.
He thanked BRICS countries for their support and solidarity with Iran and called for joint efforts to end the sense of impunity enjoyed by the US and Israel. He warned that empires in decline stop at nothing and urged BRICS nations to work together for a just and balanced world order where might can never make right.
The criminal US-Israeli aggression against Iran began on February 28 with airstrikes that assassinated senior officials including Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei. Iran responded with powerful missile and drone strikes and exercised strict control over the Strait of Hormuz.
