TAYIBE: Israeli authorities issued demolition and evacuation orders on Wednesday for 17 agricultural structures in the plain of the city of Taybeh in the Triangle area, under the pretext of unlicensed construction.
The owners of the structures were surprised to find notices posted on the buildings and agricultural facilities, ordering their evacuation and demolition.

The Taybeh plain is the target of an Israeli scheme to establish a “national dry port” on approximately 2,200 dunums of land. Palestinian inhabitants say the project threatens to seize vast tracts of agricultural land in the region. Residents have organized protests against the scheme, stressing that it targets the city’s only remaining natural open space.
