West Bank: 47 Palestinian Families Given 24 Hours to Leave

Israeli occupiers have given 47 Palestinian families in the northern occupied West Bank until Sunday evening to leave their homes, following a 27-day blockade of their community. According to Anadolu Agency, the families live in Ras al-Ahmar, southeast of Tubas, which has been cut off by weeks of road closures.

47 Palestinian families face an uncertain future

Hassan Mleihat, head of the Palestinian rights group Al-Baydar, told Anadolu that the families face an uncertain future after weeks of closures isolating the community. He said the ultimatum had deepened residents’ fears about whether they could remain on their land and protect their livelihoods, and called for urgent intervention by rights groups, humanitarian organisations and international bodies to protect residents and end the blockade.

In September, the Israeli army closed the last remaining route linking Ras al-Ahmar with surrounding areas, after other dirt roads had already been blocked. Resident Thaer Bisharat said restrictions had intensified over the past three years, reaching a critical point when Israeli forces dug a trench across the community’s last access road. The community, he said, is now surrounded by trenches, walls and military zones.

Citing the official Palestinian news agency WAFA, Al Masirah reported that Israeli forces shot dead 32-year-old Shadi Ahmad Ibrahim Ajarmeh near the Nabi Yunis junction north of al-Khalil (Hebron) on Friday evening, and are withholding his body. According to Anadolu, Israeli occupiers abducted seven Palestinians and injured three others during attacks on olive harvesters on Saturday, while Anadolu photojournalist Issam Rimawi was wounded by a rubber bullet fired by Israeli soldiers near Ramallah.

According to the Palestinian Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission, Israeli occupiers have carried out more than 14,742 attacks across the West Bank, including occupied East Jerusalem, since October 2023, killing 66 Palestinians.
