Olive harvest attacks continued across the occupied West Bank on Saturday, as Israeli troops and settlers blocked Palestinian farmers from reaching their land and injured at least nine people in the village of Deir Abu Mashal, northwest of Ramallah, according to Anadolu Agency.

Farmers shot and beaten in Deir Abu Mashal

The Palestinian Red Crescent Society said its teams treated nine people: one hit by live fire, two by rubber bullets and six who were beaten. Local sources told Anadolu that soldiers and settlers attacked the farmers as they headed to harvest olives and forced them to turn back. Anadolu photojournalist Issam Rimawi, who was covering the harvest, was struck in the right calf by a rubber bullet fired by the Israeli army.

In al-Mughayyir, east of Ramallah, Israeli forces and settlers surrounded the home of Mohammad Hamed Abu Aliya and fired tear gas at it, leaving family members suffocating, the Palestinian news agency WAFA reported. Troops also prevented an ambulance from reaching the site.

Olive harvest attacks and abductions in Qaffin

According to WAFA, settlers protected by Israeli forces attacked farmers in the Dhahr al-Abed area of Qaffin, north of Tulkarm, stealing olive crops and harvesting equipment and abducting three farmers to an unknown location.

The Palestinian Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission documented at least 12 settler attacks since Saturday morning in Ramallah and al-Bireh, Nablus, Qalqilya, Hebron and Jericho. They included expelling harvesters from their land, beatings, pepper spray, theft of property, raids on homes and road closures.

The commission said more than 45,000 trees, including over 26,000 olive trees, were cut down or damaged across the West Bank in the first half of 2026. Official Palestinian figures put the number of Israeli settlers in the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem, at about 750,000, living in 194 settlements and 400 outposts.
