The United Nations food relief organization has warned that the US-Israeli war of aggression on Iran is pushing millions of people in West Asia and Africa into hunger.
A report by UN News on Thursday highlighted that what started as a geopolitical crisis has turned into a serious food security crisis, with rising hunger in Africa and malnourished children being turned away from clinics in Afghanistan.

Despite a fragile ceasefire, continued US violations and uncertainty in the Strait of Hormuz have disrupted global supply chains, increased fuel and transport costs, and worsened the humanitarian situation. The World Food Programme (WFP) has projected that up to 45 million more people could fall into acute food insecurity if the conflict and high oil prices persist.
WFP Acting Executive Director Carl Skau confirmed that higher energy prices are already causing sharp rises in food insecurity in countries like Somalia, Afghanistan, and Sri Lanka. UNICEF also warned that shipping disruptions are reducing aid delivery to children in need.
The unprovoked US-Israeli war began on February 28 with the assassination of Iran’s Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei. Iran responded with strong and legitimate self-defense strikes. Tehran has repeatedly stated that lifting the illegal US naval blockade on the Strait of Hormuz is essential for any lasting agreement.
