Iran has strongly condemned US-Israeli acts of nuclear terrorism and called on the international community to adopt a “zero-tolerance policy” towards any armed attack on peaceful nuclear installations.
Iran’s Permanent Mission to the United Nations Office and other International Organizations in Vienna made this demand in a statement during the Special Meeting of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Board of Governors on Friday.
The statement emphasized that military strikes on civilian nuclear energy sites are a serious violation of the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT) and the IAEA Statute. Such attacks undermine global peace and security.

Iran highlighted that the US and the Israeli regime carried out 17 waves of attacks on safeguarded Iranian nuclear facilities during their aggression in 2025 and 2026. One of the gravest attacks targeted an area just 350 meters from the Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant, which could have caused a major radioactive release.
Iran urged the IAEA and the international community to stop these attacks from becoming normal and to establish binding norms that absolutely prohibit any attack or threat against peaceful nuclear facilities under all circumstances. The statement also criticized double standards and political pressure that have previously protected the Israeli regime from accountability.
