Russia has pledged to work closely with Iran to find peaceful solutions to the West Asia crisis within the framework of international law while strongly condemning US and Israeli attacks on the Islamic Republic and praising the unity of the Iranian people.
Russian Security Council Deputy Secretary Alexander Venediktov made these remarks during a meeting with Ali Bagheri deputy secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council on the sidelines of the SCO meeting in Bishkek.
Venediktov strongly condemned the unprovoked US-Israeli war of aggression against Iran that began on February 28 and expressed condolences for the losses suffered by the Iranian nation. He noted that despite the attacks the Iranian people remained united and strong.

Ali Bagheri thanked Russia for its firm support including the veto of an anti-Iran resolution at the UN Security Council. He said Russia acts as a guarantor of security and prevents the US from turning the world into a jungle without law.
Bagheri warned that the war against Iran is an attack on the Global South and called for strong resistance against imperialist aggression.
Separately Director of Russia’s Foreign Intelligence Service Sergei Naryshkin said the US and Israel miscalculated in their aggression against Iran. He praised the courage and resistance of the Iranian people armed forces and government stating that Iran still possesses very significant military potential.
