Iranian Navy Forces US Warships to Withdraw from Sea of Oman After Warning Shots

Iranian Navy forces US warships to withdraw from Sea of Oman

Iran’s Army has announced that a number of US warships operating in the Sea of Oman were forced to withdraw after Iranian naval forces fired warning shots using cruise missiles and advanced drones.

In a statement on Friday, the Iranian Army said the operation was part of the Islamic Republic’s campaign to counter maritime mischief, disruptions, and hijacking of commercial vessels by the terrorist US naval forces.

“After warning shots by the Qadir missile and the new Shahid Dana drones, the transgressor destroyers DDG-103 and DDG-8 left the Sea of Oman toward the Indian Ocean,” the statement said. The USS Tripoli amphibious assault helicopter carrier was also compelled to flee the area.

The Iranian Navy warned that it possesses longer-range missiles and will not hesitate to use them if the American-Zionist enemy continues its aggressive actions. This latest success comes as Iran continues to firmly defend its sovereignty and regional waters against ongoing US violations of the ceasefire and illegal naval blockade in the Strait of Hormuz. Iran has repeatedly stated it will not tolerate any foreign interference in its maritime zones.
