Iran has strongly rejected accusations by Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama that Tehran is fueling anti-government protests in the country.
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei, in a post on X on Tuesday, urged Rama to “calm down” and “face the music,” saying it was the Albanian government that started the issue.
Baghaei advised Rama to listen to his own people who are chanting slogans such as “No to corruption,” “We want justice,” and “Rama leave.” He emphasized that the Albanian people are intelligent enough to distinguish truth from falsehood and that the government should not blame others to evade accountability for the protests against the controversial luxury resort project linked to Jared Kushner.
