Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf has hailed Iran’s historic resilience against aggressors, saying the country took a “great step towards final victory” through the agreement with the United States.
In a post on X on Monday, Qalibaf addressed the Iranian nation, stating: “With your historic resistance and the valor of the armed forces against those who sought the destruction of this nation and homeland, Iran took a great step toward final victory. They wanted to and they couldn’t.”
“We are standing firm and in the end our Iran will win by the grace of God,” he added.

Qalibaf’s remarks come amid reports that Iranian and American delegations will meet in Switzerland on Friday to sign the memorandum of understanding aimed at ending the illegal US-Israeli war of aggression.
To symbolize Iran’s ancient strength and endurance, Qalibaf attached a picture of the 4,500-year-old Abarkuh cypress tree in central Iran, Asia’s oldest living organism.
The US-Israeli aggression began on February 28. Iran responded with powerful retaliatory strikes and restricted the Strait of Hormuz. A Pakistan-brokered ceasefire took effect on April 8.
