In a post on X Araghchi said Kuwait’s attack on the small Iranian boat and the arrest of the Iranian citizens were completely illegal. He stated that this move was intended to sow discord in the region which is already tense due to US Israeli aggression against Iran.
The Iranian minister said the attack took place near an island in the Persian Gulf where the US has stationed its military personnel and equipment to launch attacks on Iran. Kuwait has served as a major platform for US attacks on Iran during the recent aggression.
Iran has repeatedly warned Kuwait to expel US forces from its territory to avoid future consequences. Araghchi said Iran reserves the full right to respond to this illegal act by Kuwait.
