Iran says termination of the Israeli war on Lebanon is an “inseparable” part of an agreement between Tehran and Washington to permanently end the illegal US-Israeli aggression against the Islamic Republic.
Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei made the remarks during his weekly press briefing on Monday.
He said that the finalization of the Iran-US memorandum that calls for ending the war on all fronts, including in Lebanon, was the outcome of the Islamic Republic’s resilience against two evil actors.

Baghaei emphasized that the word “Lebanon” is mentioned three times in the understanding, making it clear that ending the war includes respecting Lebanon’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. He warned that the United States bears responsibility for ensuring that the Zionist regime fulfills its obligations and does not attack Lebanon.
The spokesman described the MoU as merely an initial step toward reducing tensions, noting Iran’s deep-rooted suspicion of the US due to its history of broken promises. He reaffirmed that Iran’s Armed Forces and the Resistance Axis remain fully prepared to respond decisively to any aggression.
