Strait of Hormuz Iran: Vice President Aref Declares “We Will Never Give It Up at Any Cost”

Strait of Hormuz Iran: Vice President Mohammad Reza Aref reaffirms Iran’s full sovereignty over the strategic waterway

Iran’s Vice President Mohammad Reza Aref has strongly declared that the Strait of Hormuz belongs to Iran and the country will not give it up at any cost.

Aref said the strategic waterway has always been Iran’s property although for some time it was not fully utilized. He made the remarks as Iran facilitated the safe passage of Chinese vessels under its own management protocols.

Iran shut the Strait to its enemies and their allies after the unprovoked US-Israeli aggression. Tehran has maintained stricter controls following the illegal US naval blockade which violates the Pakistan-brokered ceasefire.

Iran insists it will not fully reopen the Strait until the illegal blockade is lifted and a permanent end to the war is reached. The move to allow Chinese ships reflects strong strategic ties between Tehran and Beijing while reinforcing Iran’s sovereign authority over the vital waterway.

Experts say Iran is now fully exercising its rights under international law as a responsible manager of the Strait of Hormuz.
