RAMALLAH: The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates has welcomed the announcement by Australia, Canada, France, Norway, and the United Kingdom of coordinated sanctions targeting individuals and entities involved in financing, supporting, and carrying out colonist attacks against Palestinians in the occupied Palestinian Territory.
The Ministry described these sanctions as an important step in the right direction and consistent with international law and commitments.

The Ministry stressed that colonial settlement activity is illegal under international law and constitutes a direct threat to Palestinian rights. It called on the international community to impose further deterrent sanctions on the entire settlement system, prohibit dealings with settlement products, and take practical measures to protect the Palestinian people and end the occupation.
