Araghchi Offers Iran’s Help to Launch Saudi-Yemen Dialogue in Call with Saudi FM

TEHRAN – Iranian Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araghchi has expressed the Islamic Republic’s readiness to provide any assistance to help initiate dialogue between Saudi Arabia and Yemen and facilitate a political solution to the crisis.

According to Tasnim News Agency, in a telephone conversation with his Saudi counterpart Prince Faisal bin Farhan on Sunday evening, the two top diplomats discussed the latest developments in the region.

Insisting on a Military Approach Will Complicate the Situation

Araghchi expressed concern over escalating tensions, stressing that insisting on a military approach and disregarding a political solution would further complicate the existing situation.

The Iranian foreign minister also emphasized that the ongoing crises in the region have no military solution, reiterating Iran’s readiness to provide any assistance to help launch dialogue between Saudi Arabia and Yemen and facilitate a political settlement.

Iran’s Role in Regional Diplomacy

The call comes amid heightened regional tensions in the shadow of US and Zionist aggression. Tehran has consistently argued that the region’s problems must be resolved through dialogue among regional states rather than reliance on foreign powers. On the same day, Iranian Armed Forces spokesman Brigadier General Abolfazl Shekarchi urged regional countries to abandon the US security umbrella.

Relations between Yemen’s Ansarullah movement and Saudi Arabia have long been a key regional security issue, and Iran has repeatedly backed a political resolution of the Yemeni crisis and an end to aggression against the Yemeni people.

The offer signals Tehran’s continued commitment to de-escalation and to promoting direct engagement among Muslim nations of the region.
