Quran’s Teachings a Source of Guidance, Says Allama Naeemi

The Quran’s teachings are a source of guidance for all of humanity, and parents should equip their children with religious knowledge and the Prophetic character, Council of Islamic Ideology (CII) Chairman Allama Dr Muhammad Raghib Hussain Naeemi has said. According to the daily Nawa-i-Waqt, he was speaking at a ceremony at Jamia Naeemia in Lahore marking the completion of memorisation of the Holy Quran.

The ceremony was held for Hafiz Muhammad Anas, son of Jamia Naeemia registrar Maulana Arshad Javed, and was attended by teachers of the Hifz department, including Qari Muhammad Amir Qadri, as well as Quran reciters, students and other dignitaries.

Allama Naeemi said memorising the Quran is a great blessing and honour from Allah, and that attachment to the Quran gives a person intellectual, moral and spiritual growth. He urged parents not to limit their children to worldly education, saying the religious and moral upbringing of the new generation is their basic responsibility. He noted that Jamia Naeemia has been engaged in promoting the Quran and Sunnah and serving human welfare for eight decades.

Ayatollah Najafi: the Quran holds every solution

Meanwhile, Ayatollah Hafiz Syed Riaz Hussain Najafi, president of Wafaq-ul-Madaris Al-Shia Pakistan, said at the Jamia Ali Mosque of Hawza Ilmiya Jamiat-ul-Muntazar in Lahore’s Model Town that the Quran was revealed to raise humanity to its peak. According to Nawa-i-Waqt, he said that if Muslims acted on its teachings they would be a superpower today, and that the Quran cures both spiritual and physical ailments because it contains the solution to every problem.
