Ansarullah Secures Full Control of Bab al-Mandab Strait

Yemeni Ansarullah forces have established full control over the highly strategic Bab al-Mandab Strait today following the successful capture of multiple key islands. Military units liberated Mayun Island from Saudi-backed elements, while also taking over the islands of Zugar, Greater Hanish, and Lesser Hanish.

With these latest territorial gains, Ansarullah has secured complete dominance over this vital maritime chokepoint. The Bab al-Mandab Strait remains one of the world’s most critical waterways for international trade and shipping, serving as a transit route for approximately 10 percent of global energy resources.

Clashes between the official Ansarullah-led government and Saudi-backed rebel factions remain ongoing.
