Yemeni Army Secures Mayun Island and Bab al-Mandab Strait

The Yemeni army has successfully captured Mayun Island, completing its strategic control over the vital Bab al-Mandab Strait. According to AFP, citing a local official, securing this critical chokepoint at the strait’s entrance holds massive implications for regional maritime security and global trade routes.

In parallel with the island’s capture, military forces have continued their coastal advancements. Reuters, quoting informed sources, reported that Yemeni troops and allied fighters have successfully reached the coastal city of Dhubab, located along the Bab al-Mandab corridor.

Further up the coast, Al Mayadeen reported that the strategic port city of Mokha is now under the full control of the Yemeni army. Field correspondents confirmed that the situation in Mokha has entirely returned to normal, with all official government institutions reopening and resuming their regular administrative activities.
