Iran reports increased ship traffic through the Strait of Hormuz under new arrangements to facilitate transit via the key Persian Gulf waterway.
The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps Navy said on Wednesday that a total of 26 ships had passed through the Strait of Hormuz in the past 24 hours.

The ships included oil tankers, container ships, and other commercial vessels. All passages took place in full coordination with the IRGC Navy after obtaining necessary permits, with the force ensuring complete security of transit.
The IRGC Navy has expanded the operational scope of the Strait, now stretching from the coasts of Jask and Sirik to beyond Greater Tunb Island. This marks a major increase in transit compared to the period following the start of US-Israeli aggression in late February.
Iran maintains that it will continue to control the Strait by restricting adversarial vessels and charging fees for safe passage while remaining ready to fully reopen the waterway once the illegal US blockade is lifted and the war permanently ends.
