AI & Image Policy

Last updated: September 6, 2026

The Voice of Ummah may use artificial-intelligence tools to assist with translation, transcription, language editing, summaries, search optimisation and editorial illustrations. AI assistance does not replace human editorial responsibility.

Editorial safeguards

Editors remain responsible for checking facts, names, dates, quotations, context and publication decisions. We do not knowingly use AI to invent sources, quotations, casualties or events.

Images and illustrations

AI-generated visuals are treated as editorial illustrations, not documentary evidence. They are labelled: “AI-generated editorial illustration; not an authentic photograph of the event.” They must not be presented as proof of a real scene. Authentic third-party photographs are used only where we have a reasonable permission, licence or lawful basis and are credited when required.

Reference images

A source image may help identify the factual subject, but it does not by itself grant permission to republish or closely copy that photograph. We aim to avoid near-duplicates and misleading reconstructions.

Questions or concerns

If you believe an image or article is misleading, incorrectly credited or infringes rights, please send the URL and details through our contact page.
