The al-Quds Brigades, the armed wing of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad, announced that one of its fighters was killed during clashes in Khan Younis, southern Gaza. The deadly confrontation broke out when an armed group, reportedly backed by Israel, attempted to capture the fighter.

According to the Brigades, the opposing armed faction received direct support from Israeli drones during the skirmish. This incident aligns with previous admissions by Benjamin Netanyahu regarding the funding of various armed groups in Gaza to counter Hamas, including at least one faction believed to have ties with ISIS.
