Putin Xi Iran Aggression: Russian and Chinese presidents jointly condemn US-Israeli war on Iran and urge dialogue

Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping have jointly condemned the recent US-Israeli war of aggression against Iran, calling for dialogue as the only way to end the destabilizing conflict.

In a joint statement released on Wednesday during Putin’s state visit to China, the two leaders stressed that the US and Israeli military attacks on Iran violate international law and seriously undermine stability in the West Asia region.

They emphasized the necessity for the conflicting sides to return to dialogue and negotiations as quickly as possible to prevent the expansion of the conflict. Putin and Xi also called on the international community to adopt an objective and neutral stance to help de-escalate tensions.

The statement comes as Iran continues to face threats from the United States and Israel following their unprovoked aggression that began on February 28. A Pakistan-brokered ceasefire has been in place since early April, but a US naval blockade on Iranian ports remains in effect.

Separately, President Xi Jinping called for a lasting peace in the region and warned that restarting the war is unacceptable, stressing the importance of adhering to negotiations.
